The beginning of the twenty-first century is being characterized as a period of global, multicultural, multiethnic and multi-religious , coming to bring about an increasingly complex society. The complexity lies a dual reality, one side can be an asset, potential, a set of resources to be exploited, on the other side can lead to confusion and bewilderment, apathy, frustration, fear. In this reality we are called to work as educators of new generations in this society, local and European, IRC (Catholic Religious Education) is requested to contribute to the education of new generations. IRC is required to be in the European School discipline with a precise epistemological status, while remaining true to its peculiarities. The IRC is a discipline that has its epistemological status, although still in embryonic and not fully established while at the same time is a discipline that has as its content system that of Christian doctrine, this is not the will of the Church, but by virtue of a law of the Italian state, the result of the arrangement. On these issues we are facing the Catholic religion teachers, trainers of trainers, delegates of the eighteen dioceses Sicilian present the sixth regional course held in Acireale upgrade 25 to 28 March 2009.
