Today there is the risk of conceiving the common good as the good of all that I use for my personal interests. The school is a public good that benefits all the "educational community." Therefore, the central axis around which must rotate the design of educational institution, the foundation upon which must rest, must just be the Common Good. If the school is good for the whole Community, education must play a central role, from which a value can not be ignored. The school designed as a common good is something that belongs to us, so we should all strive to help strengthen it and serve for the good of all, in order to give citizens the opportunity to communities to have an "instrument" qualified high-potential training capable of offering all people equal opportuni ity to achieve higher levels of education. Those working in schools are called upon to design educational programs for change, which goes in the direction of growth and the adoption
cultural participation of people. If our educational practice creates change is not an end in itself, a school is a "tool" which gives us eve help to do so, otherwise it risks becoming too self-referential reality. Today we are at a particularly delicate moment in history, in a historical phase in which we educators are called to take up the "educational challenge" that the society of the new millennium presents us.
In our educational practice, we can not do regardless of the constant reference to four conceptual categories:
COMPLEXITY : Today we are in a complex society, this, in itself, is not a limit, the company has become more complex, dynamic, culturally goes
riego and evolved, so, more difficult to manage, because the social dynamics have multiplied. Q uindi becomes more complicated ù find solutions, develop meaningful projects for the common good, toward the welfare state, to school, economics, politics, etc ...
Identity: man must rediscover its raison d'etre, its identity as a human person. The man is not a living being like everyone else, first and foremost a man, intelligence, reason, feelings. Man is that being alive who is able to relate to and live social relations.
REPORT: Goleman writes that "we are programmed to connect," and to enter into relationships with others. Our whole existence is a continuous relationship, we are not of the "Monads"!
EDUCATION: as a process that leads the individual from his state to perceive themselves as self-centered to person among people. Education through art as a process of Socratic, helps a person to make out the man inside of himself, a being capable of critical thinking, able to relate positively with other human beings, to be "helm" of the society of the twenty-first century. In other words, the educational practice can be summed up around the three pillars of education: KNOWLEDGE, KNOW-HOW, KNOW TO BE. This is the mission of the school of the twenty-first century!
